How to Play Rio
Quick start
Enter the first story stage, practise an upward or downward swipe and time a tap to a closing note ring. Keep the next platform and hazard in view.
Controls
Swipe up/down to change platform and tap with the note timing; follow hold prompts where introduced. DSi camera extras require the camera, while the repeating parrot uses microphone input on the original hardware.
Rio — About this game
The DS version follows a rhythm-running structure. Blu advances automatically while upward and downward swipes move between platforms, collecting flowers and avoiding hazards. Tap when the shrinking ring reaches an instrument icon to add its note to the music. A mistimed tap can silence the lead part until you recover, so listen as well as watching the route. Begin by learning one platform change and one timed note before combining them. Dance-memory and flower-collecting interludes change the task. Extras include a DSi camera dance avatar and a talking parrot, each relying on the appropriate original hardware feature.
