How to Play Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Quick start
Press START to begin. In the prison, collect the sword by the furnace and open the command menu with START. Select the player screen, choose the sword with A, move it to Robin's right hand and press A again. Close the screen with B, defeat the guard using A, then use the search command near his body to find the door key. Free the other prisoners and listen to their clues.
Controls
D-pad: move or select. During exploration, A uses the right hand and B the left; the attack button depends on where the weapon is equipped. START opens commands; Up/Down selects and A confirms, while B closes. SELECT pauses. Player screen: D-pad moves the pointer and A selects or places items. Duels: A jumps, B attacks. Group battles: A sword, B arrows, START changes character.

Robin Hood begins as a prisoner far from England, with his friend Peter awaiting a cruel fate. Escape the dungeon, return home and build a band capable of resisting the Sheriff of Nottingham. Exploration involves more than fighting: speak with people, examine rooms and search for hidden objects that unlock the next step. The player screen lets you inspect equipment, assign weapons to either hand, share supplies and consult a local map. Combat changes perspective for sword duels and larger clashes, while experience levels and careful equipment choices help your companions survive the journey.
