Use Up+A to reach a higher floor and Down+A to drop. Stand at a BULLET door and press Up when you need handgun ammunition; ARMS doors provide a machine gun. After GAME OVER, select CONTINUE and press START to resume; only three continues are available.
Controls
Left/Right: move. Down: crouch. B: fire; the handgun fires single shots, while the machine gun can fire continuously. A: jump. Up+A: high jump. Down+A: drop to a lower floor. A with the direction of travel: long jump. Up in front of a door: enter; keep holding Up to stay inside, or press Down to leave immediately. SELECT chooses menu options and START confirms. Use the Control Pad for password entry and A to begin from that password.
Rolling Thunder — About this game
Rolling Thunder mixes shooting with deliberate positioning. A handgun can clear the path ahead, but every shot draws on a limited supply, and enemies can threaten you from another level of the corridor. Doors offer more than scenery: marked entrances replenish handgun ammunition or provide a machine gun, while staying inside lets you wait for danger outside to pass. High jumps and drops give access to different floors, so a safe route may involve changing height rather than exchanging fire. The Japanese Famicom edition sends Albatross through ten areas of the stronghold, with passwords providing return points. Enemy shots and dangerous falls can end a life immediately, making careful movement as valuable as accurate shooting.
