How to Play Rugrats: Castle Capers
Quick start
Press START, begin a new game, choose a baby and select one of the five open story areas. Angelica has stolen the babies' toys, so each stage ends when you cross its horizontal and vertical platform route and recover the hidden item. Start with Beanstalk Babies for the first route shown in the standard playthrough, collect food to throw at squirrels and other enemies, and gather the babies you meet because they follow the leader and help the group reach high ledges. Cookies and other pickups give extra chances. Clear the first five areas to unlock the final magic-carpet stage, Ali Baby and the 40 Fleas.
Controls
D-pad moves, climbs and navigates menus. A jumps and confirms menu choices. B throws a carried food item to hold an enemy in place long enough to pass. Press Down when a low passage requires the baby to crawl, and use the direction of the ledge while jumping for vertical routes. START pauses. Other babies follow the selected leader automatically; their group actions are prompted by the stage layout rather than a separate combat mode.
