How to Play Scripps Spelling Bee
Quick start
Choose Practice, listen to the first word and request its meaning or sentence if needed. Enter an answer, review it and then try Championship or a word mini-game.
Controls
Use the on-screen DS answer controls to enter letters and select help requests. Mini-games have their own touch instructions. Listen to the supplied pronunciation before committing the spelling.
Scripps Spelling Bee — About this game
Championship builds a spelling-competition journey, while Practice lets you work without elimination pressure. Listen carefully, ask for a definition, origin or example sentence when needed, then enter the spelling using the DS answer interface. Word Search, Word Maze and Word Memory provide different exercises, and custom lists let you practise selected vocabulary. Begin in Practice with a short list before entering the tournament. Check what the spoken word means rather than guessing from an unclear sound; scores and prizes are collected in the Trophy Case.
