How to Play Nobunaga no Yabou: Haouden
Quick start
Select a scenario and a ruler. Examine your castles, supplies and available officers before issuing orders. Begin with domestic preparations and a nearby objective instead of opening several wars at once.
Controls
Move the menu cursor with the D-pad and use the displayed confirm command to choose a castle, officer or order. Use cancel to return before committing a command; review the order and its cost before ending the turn.

Haouden approaches Japan's struggle for unification through the relationship between a ruler, his castles and the officers who serve him. Military expansion has to be supported by administration and the allocation of work and rewards. Officers are resources to manage rather than interchangeable counters, and a growing domain creates new demands on command and loyalty. Decisions are issued through Japanese menus, with campaigns developing over successive strategic turns.
