Aarbron journeys through a hostile fantasy world in search of his kidnapped sister. Shadow of the Beast II combines side-scrolling combat with exploration, conversations and objects that matter beyond the next enemy. A route that looks open can still require information or an item obtained elsewhere, so remember unfamiliar landmarks and inspect the surroundings carefully. The Sega CD edition adds its own presentation to the adventure; it remains a deliberate search through connected dangers rather than a race straight to the right.
