How to Play Shin Megami Tensei
Quick start
Begin a new game and follow the opening neighbourhood events. Learn the map and battle commands before venturing far. Try talking to a demon when negotiation is available, then review the abilities of any ally before relying on it in battle.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move and turn in the first-person view or choose commands. Confirm to select an action, target or dialogue response; use cancel to step back. Use party and fusion menus to organise demons between encounters.
Shin Megami Tensei — About this game
Shin Megami Tensei combines dungeon exploration with turn-based battles in a Tokyo overtaken by supernatural conflict. Enemies are not only targets: negotiation can recruit demons to the party, and fusion creates different allies from those you already possess. That makes preparation a question of abilities and relationships as well as experience. The Mega-CD version presents this early series adventure with CD-era presentation while retaining its maze navigation, demon conversations and command-based encounters.
