How to Play Star Wars Chess
Quick start
Choose the match settings and inspect which characters represent the chess pieces. Move a pawn or knight to begin developing your position, then check whether your king is exposed before making an aggressive capture.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move the board cursor, confirm to select a piece and confirm its legal destination to move. Use the available cancel command to reconsider a selection and the settings menu to adjust the match presentation.
Star Wars Chess — About this game
Star Wars Chess keeps the familiar structure of chess while replacing its armies with characters from the films. Moving and capturing pieces still depends on their legal moves and the safety of the king, but a capture is presented as an animated encounter between the chosen characters. The spectacle adds personality to a tactical board game without turning it into free-form action combat. Planning several moves ahead remains more valuable than choosing the character with the most dramatic animation.
