How to Play Wing Commander
Quick start
Select Start Vega Campaign. In the Tiger’s Claw lounge, use the simulator to practise before entering the barracks and following the route to a mission briefing. Note the objective before launching.
Controls
In flight, D-pad steers; A fires guns; A+B launches a missile. Hold B with Up/Down to change speed. Tap B twice, holding the second press, for afterburners. Start pauses. A activates a selected person, door or simulator aboard the carrier.
Wing Commander — About this game
Wing Commander places a fighter pilot within a continuing military campaign. Briefings give each sortie its purpose, while conversations aboard the carrier connect the missions to the pilots who fly them. Once launched, steering, target tracking and weapon use have to be balanced against the fighter's condition and the assignment still ahead. The Mega-CD adaptation carries that combination of cockpit combat and a story told between sorties rather than presenting a sequence of unrelated arcade waves.
