How to Play Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2
Quick start
Choose New Game, enter your name and select Tico’s appearance. Follow Daichi, watch the Nicaea death clip and meet Io at the station. Complete the opening movement and combat lessons before pursuing more events. On the map, press X to open the summoning app; check Team to arrange your demons and Data to save.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move the cursor, A to confirm or advance text and B to cancel. On the event map, X opens the app menu. In battle, X shows the area or range, Y shows skills, SELECT displays the map and START opens the system menu, including Suspend. Regular saves are under Data in the app.

A strange service sends a teenager videos of his friends’ deaths just as disaster tears through Japan. Devil Survivor 2 mixes time-sensitive conversations with tactical battles: move human-led teams across a grid, then resolve their encounters through short command-based fights. Demons provide elemental skills, and exploiting weaknesses can earn Extra Turns. Auctions and fusion expand your options, while the Fate system rewards spending time with your companions. Deciding which events to pursue matters alongside building a capable team.
