How to Play Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Quick start
Start a new game, name the protagonist and follow the meetings with Yuzu and Atsuro and the COMP messages. In the first summoning battle, learn to move each character on the grid and select Attack, then confirm the combat commands. Defeat the opening demons to obtain your first allies, and check the COMP team settings before the next battle.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move the cursor and select locations, units or commands. A confirms and advances dialogue; B cancels. X opens the COMP menu outside combat and checks terrain on the battlefield. Y checks skills in battle and can advance time on the city screen, so read the current button prompt before using it. Some menus accept stylus input.

Devil Survivor places its cast inside a sealed Tokyo as demons appear and a countdown threatens their lives. Events on the city menu consume time, so conversations and battles compete for attention and influence later routes. On the battlefield you move human-led teams across a grid; an attack opens a short command battle with their demon allies. Exploiting weaknesses can earn extra actions. Auctions and fusion expand the demons available, making preparation and team composition part of every decision.
