How to Play Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Quick start
Start New Game and enter your name. Follow the Red Sprite’s opening incidents and the combat and DEMONICA explanations. Recover in the Sickbay, then choose Disembark at the Deck to enter Antlia. Read the Field Controls document and meet the strike team. Check the lower-screen map as you explore; save at the ship’s Command Room or a field Terminal.
Controls
In the field, Up walks forward, Left/Right turn and Down turns 180 degrees. Hold B with a direction to move without turning. A examines, talks or scans; X opens the mission log and Y the DEMONICA menu. L/R browse floor maps, which you can drag with the stylus. In battle, X toggles Auto-Battle and Y shows conditions; A confirms and B cancels.

An expedition enters the Schwarzwelt, a deadly anomaly spreading from Antarctica, with the Red Sprite as its base. Strange Journey is a first-person dungeon RPG built around grid exploration, an automatic map and the DEMONICA suit’s expanding capabilities. In command-based battles, striking a weakness lets allies of the same alignment join a Demon Co-Op attack. Talking to enemies can recruit them, and fusion opens new team combinations. Missions link the investigation to the crew’s struggle to understand and survive this hostile world.
