How to Play Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling: Toukon Retsuden Advance
Quick start
Begin with the one-player Scenario/Success mode, choose a wrestler and, for a created fighter, spend the opening points on attack, defence and related attributes. In the ring, keep some distance, interrupt the opponent with a B strike, then move in and use A for a grapple or throw. Attack again while they are down; once enough damage has accumulated, use R for a submission or pin. The system is a three-way contest between strikes, grapples and submissions, so answer the opponent's choice instead of repeating one move. Success mode awards more development points after matches and story choices can lead towards the main NJPW unit or T2000.
Controls
D-pad moves around the ring and chooses a throw direction once locked in a grapple. B performs strikes such as punches, kicks and chops. A initiates close grapples and suplex/slam moves. R applies submissions or pinning holds; the result changes with your position near a downed opponent's head or legs. START pauses and opens the match menu. In menus, use D-pad, A to confirm and B to cancel. No undocumented L or SELECT shortcut is asserted.
