How to Play Shufflepuck Café

Quick start

Start with START, move the cursor to your opponent in the store and press A. First, choose the training robot DC3 Ortho or the beginner's Skip. Use the D-Pad to move the paddle into the puck's path and hold B to move faster. Once you get used to returning the ball, move your opponent to one side and aim for the other side. You can participate in the tournament by pressing A on the CHAMPION panel at the back right of the store.

Controls

D-pad: Move paddle or selection cursor, adjust setting values left and right. A: Decide on partner/menu. If you press it when the puck hits the paddle, the friction and reflection rate set to the ON side will work. B: Press and hold to move the paddle faster and exit the screen in the settings screen. START: Start, setting screen display during match. Use CONTINUE on the settings screen to restart from the same score, and use NEW GAME to start over from 0-0 against the same opponent. PADDLE CONTROL and BLOCKER CONTROL cannot be selected during a tournament.

Shufflepuck Café — About this game

"Shufflepuck Cafe" is a game where you can enjoy one-on-one air hockey at a store where aliens gather. Move the paddle in front of you to get past your opponent's defense and aim for the goal. Normally, the first team to score 15 points is the first to score, and if the score is 14-14, the first team to score two points wins. Each opponent reacts and hits differently, with some hitting accurate shots and others using mysterious serves. In free play, you can adjust the size, speed, and reflexes of the paddle, as well as the obstacle in the center, and you can also fine-tune its movements against robot opponents. After getting a feel for returning the ball through practice, it's time for a tournament where you take turns defeating eight people, excluding the robots. If you keep a record of the password you used when you lost, you can try again from that opponent.
