How to Play Snake Rattle 'n' Roll

Quick start

At the title screen, use SELECT to choose one or two players, then press START. Move with the D-pad, jump with A and flick your tongue with B to eat Nibbley Pibbleys. Begin by practising short jumps and collecting food near safe ground. When your tail flashes, locate the scale and jump onto it; the bell rings and the exit opens. Reach the doorway before the timer expires. In two-player mode both snakes play simultaneously, and the first one through receives an extra bonus.

Controls

D-pad: move the snake. A: jump. B: flick the tongue to eat or attack, swim against a current, or open the lid beneath your snake. SELECT: choose one/two players on the title screen; unused during play. START: start or pause the game. Tongue extensions increase reach, not attack strength. Player one uses controller 1 and player two uses controller 2.

Snake Rattle 'n' Roll — About this game

Snake Rattle 'n' Roll turns feeding into the key to a lively platform adventure. Rattle and Roll explore angled landscapes, catching Nibbley Pibbleys with their tongues until their bodies are long enough to open the way onward. A flashing tail signals that it is time to find the weighing scale: jump onto it to ring the bell and unlock the exit. Food matching your snake's color is worth more growth than an ordinary piece, while yellow food is especially valuable. Length also protects you, because an enemy hit removes a segment; hazards such as spikes, crushing objects, excessive falls and a depleted timer can cost a life outright. The eleven-level journey supports two players on screen together, adding a race for the first-exit bonus to the shared traversal. Precise landings matter as much as finding food, and longer tongue reach is useful without making each strike stronger.
