How to Play Snake's Revenge

Quick start

Press START at the title to open START/CONTINUE. Choose START with SELECT and press START. Move cautiously through the jungle and look for the silencer. Press SELECT to open the command strip, choose WEAPON with the D-pad and confirm with A; select your melee and ranged weapons as needed. Use TRCVR when CALL appears or you need advice. At Base 1's main entrance, hide behind the bushes before contacting your team. Select RTN and press A to return to action.

Controls

Overhead: D-pad moves in four directions; A uses the selected weapon or equipment; B punches or uses the knife. SELECT opens command mode; choose with the D-pad and confirm with A. SELECT also moves between weapon sections and returns the cursor to the command strip; RTN then A resumes action. START begins or pauses the game. Side-scrolling: Left/Right moves, Down lies prone and Left/Right then crawls, A jumps, and B attacks with the selected weapon. These action buttons have different roles in the two viewpoints.

Snake's Revenge — About this game

Snake's Revenge sends Solid Snake into hostile territory to stop a nuclear weapon. Progress depends on more than surviving firefights: prisoners supply information, radio contacts offer help, and numbered pass cards open otherwise inaccessible rooms. Rescuing captives raises your rank and expands your life gauge, rewarding careful exploration. The overhead sections let you select a firearm or explosive separately from your punch or knife, while equipment such as rations, detection gear and oxygen tanks solves different survival problems. Later, side-scrolling sections change the controls and add jumping and crawling. A knife dispatches an ordinary guard quickly, but punching can leave useful supplies behind. Search for the jungle's silencer before relying heavily on your gun, and answer calls when you need a lead. Passwords let you return to the mission after defeat.
