How to Play Soccer League: Winners Cup

Quick start

After selecting a country for single player, first press B repeatedly while carrying the ball to get a feel for the acceleration. A is a kick that can be used for both passing and shooting, and is kicked in the same direction. You can jump by pressing A and B while standing still. When defending, try to keep your body close to the opponent who has the ball. If you move your teammates, the keeper's position will also change, so when you are attacked, it is important to look at the open space in front of the goal and move back.

Controls

Use the D-pad to move the player in 8 directions and decide which direction to kick. Kick the ball with A, pass or shoot. If you press B repeatedly, it will accelerate after a while. Stop, hold A and press B to jump. The keeper can make a big jump with A. The movement of defenders and the movement of the keeper are linked, so check not only the ball but also your own goal.

Soccer League: Winners Cup — About this game

"Soccer League Winners Cup" is a Famicom soccer game where you choose a team from eight countries, including Japan and Brazil, and aim to win the championship. In single-player mode, the goal is to defeat all 7 teams other than the selected country. Its unique feature is that it not only keeps running, but also accelerates by repeatedly pressing the B button. Movement and kicking are basically 8 directions, with slight corrections for passing. In defense, you can steal the ball by hitting your opponent with your body, but if you move the defender, the keeper will also move, so you want to make sure you don't move too far forward and leave the goal open. You can play multiple games with a half-time performance in between, and then enter the next game without entering your password.
