How to Play Sonic Colors
Quick start
Enter the game from the title screen and follow Tails’ basic lessons at Tropical Resort. Practice running, braking and jumping before heading through the first Act. Usable Wisps are not available in that Act; follow the later introductions to learn Boost and each Color Power. Once an ability is unlocked, replay earlier routes to investigate paths you could not reach before.
Controls
Left/right on the Control Pad moves and accelerates; the opposite direction brakes. A or B jumps, then A/B in the air performs a homing attack when a target marker appears. R slides while moving, and Down+A/B in the air stomps. Y uses Boost when its gauge and ability are available. X activates a held Color Power; START pauses. Follow each Wisp tutorial for its transformed controls.
Sonic Colors — About this game
Sonic and Tails visit Eggman’s interstellar amusement park and discover that its bright attractions conceal the capture of the Wisps. In this DS adventure, fast side-scrolling routes run across both screens, with jumps, slides and homing attacks linking the action. Freed Wisps grant temporary Color Powers that change how Sonic crosses obstacles: the DS version includes the explosive Red Burst and the object-consuming Violet Void. New abilities make earlier routes worth revisiting, while missions give familiar areas different goals. Learning where to spend a boost and where to slow down matters as much as simply holding a direction.
