How to Play Space Invaders
Quick start
Press START on the demo screen to go to the selection screen, select single player with SELECT, and start. Move the beam cannon left and right, and shoot upwards with A or B. First, let's cut the edge of the formation while avoiding enemy missiles. As the number of enemies decreases, they become faster, so watch carefully until the last one moves. If you keep shooting under the shelter, holes will open up, so be aware of the line of fire you can pass through and where you can retreat.
Controls
D-pad left and right: Move the beam cannon. A/B: Both fire beams. SELECT: Switch between 1-player and 2-player on the selection screen (does not use after starting). START: Proceed from demo to select screen, start selected game, pause/resume during play. For two players, take turns, and for 2 players, use the left and right controllers and A and B of the II controller.
Space Invaders — About this game
The Famicom version of ``Space Invaders'' is a fixed-screen shooter where you shoot down enemy formations with a beam cannon at the bottom of the screen. Enemies move left and right as they approach little by little, and as their number decreases, they become faster. While the shelter protects you from attacks, it will also be destroyed by your own beams and enemy missiles, so you will want to assess your line of fire without relying solely on defense. If you annihilate them, you will advance to the next stage, and when you finish the 8th stage, Part II will begin from the 9th stage. With the addition of splitting invaders and flashing UFOs that cannot be shot while they are gone, from the 17th page onwards, the composition changes to a combination of the original and part of Part II. In two-player play, players take turns each time a beam cannon is destroyed, and even if there are units left, if the base is captured, the game is over.
