How to Play Kung Fu

Quick start

Choose 1 PLAYER GAME A with SELECT and press START. Head left through the first corridor. B kicks are useful against approaching thugs; use Up to jump and Down to duck incoming attacks. Shake a grab off with quick D-pad and A/B inputs. Once the stick fighter falls, carry on to the stairs. START pauses when you need a break.

Controls

D-pad Left/Right moves Thomas, Up jumps and Down crouches. A punches and B kicks, including when jumping or crouching. Work the D-pad and A/B quickly to escape a grab. SELECT changes the title-screen game option. START starts the selected game and pauses or resumes play.

Kung Fu — About this game

In Kung Fu, getting to the far end of a corridor is only half the battle: a martial-arts boss stands between Thomas and the next flight of stairs. The five-floor rescue begins with thugs who grab and drain his energy, before adding knife throwers, snakes and other hazards. Jumping and crouching change which attacks you can avoid and where your own blows land. Choosing a useful stance and judging an opponent’s reach matters more than pressing both attack buttons endlessly. There are Game A and Game B settings, plus a two-player option in which players take turns. Reach the top, defeat Mr. X and bring Sylvia to safety.
