How to Play Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals
Quick start
Follow the opening mission, search for buried objects and excavate with the stylus. Prepare your battle pair in the Prizmod. Practise Rallen’s field weapons, then learn the separate Spectrobe controls when entering a vortex.
Controls
Field: Control Pad moves, A interacts, X opens Prizmod and Y searches. Rallen combat: A sword, B stun glove, Y blaster. Vortex combat: A normal attack, B CH attack, X switch Spectrobe and Y combination when ready. R locks targets and L cancels; excavation uses the stylus.

Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals continues Rallen and Jeena’s investigation of the Krawl with distinct field and creature battles. Search with a Child Spectrobe, excavate fossils carefully and grow companions at the laboratory. In the field, Rallen uses his sword, stunning glove and blaster. Entering a vortex changes the battle: control one of two Spectrobes directly, switch between them and leave the other to the computer. Use normal and CH attacks, then combine their strength when the gauge permits. Before exploring further, check the pair’s condition and return to the patrol cruiser’s save pod to record your progress.
