How to Play The Spiderwick Chronicles
Quick start
Start a new adventure and follow the first exploration objective around the house. Drag the stylus to walk and tap things to inspect. In the first battle, select a target and complete the displayed tracing or tapping task; check health and supplies before exploring farther.
Controls
Drag the stylus toward the desired direction to move, or use the Control Pad. Tap objects and sprites to investigate or collect them. In battle tap commands and targets, then perform the displayed stylus task. Rub bushes to search; blow into the microphone when a hidden sprite’s sunbeam prompt calls for it.

The Spiderwick Chronicles adapts the magical estate into a DS adventure with overhead exploration and turn-based combat. Guide the Grace children through their surroundings, investigate objects and collect sprites that support attacks or character growth. Meeting a monster changes the view to a battle, where you select actions and complete brief stylus tasks to strengthen a hit or reduce damage. Search the grounds carefully for items that open the next route, but keep an eye on the party’s health before approaching more enemies. Different children and collected sprites offer different options, so choose actions for the current situation rather than repeating the same attack.
