How to Play SpongeBob's Truth or Square
Quick start
Follow the introduction into the first jellyfishing memory. Practise B jumps and double-jumps, then use X spins against shooters, Y hammer strikes against spinning enemies and A projectiles against hammer enemies. Continue to the end of the first section and tap Patrick with the stylus when he offers to save; answer Yes. In the pineapple hub, the photo album selects stages and the upstairs bed also saves.
Controls
DS default: D-pad moves during stages, B jumps/double-jumps, A uses Puck Attack, X spins, Y hammers and START pauses. Touch to hammer, draw large circles around SpongeBob to spin, or drag outward from him toward a target and release to fire. In the hub, touch selects objects and D-pad moves the view. Certain sequences use the original DS microphone to raise a bubble or clear the screen.

SpongeBob's Truth or Square sends SpongeBob through memories of his happiest moments after he misplaces the secret formula. The DS stages combine platform jumps, robot battles and special activities connected to each memory. Puck, spin and hammer attacks counter different enemy styles, so using the right move matters more than repeating one attack. Buttons and stylus gestures both perform these attacks, while individual set pieces add further touch interactions. His pineapple home acts as a hub with level selection, purchases and a bed for saving. The first memory is jellyfishing with Patrick, establishing the connection between the action stages and the items SpongeBob remembers.
