How to Play Spot - The Video Game
Quick start
Choose BEGIN GAME on the title menu with the Control Pad and confirm with A or START. On your turn, move the hand over one of your own pieces and press A. Point at an adjacent empty square and press A again to make a clone. Enemies touching the destination change to your color. Begin by expanding with short moves, then use a jump when its reach is worth leaving the starting square empty. Open SELECT OPTIONS before starting to change human or computer opponents and the timer.
Controls
Control Pad: move the hand cursor. A: select a piece and confirm its destination; stop each bonus reel. Hold B while moving the cursor for faster movement. START: begin or confirm the opening menu choice; pause and resume a match. In SELECT OPTIONS, A cycles the highlighted setting and SELECT moves among options. In EDIT BOARD, A adds or removes squares, B cycles preset layouts, SELECT restores the original board, and START returns to the opening screen. With two regular controllers in a three- or four-player game, controller 1 is shared by players 1 and 3, and controller 2 by players 2 and 4.
Spot - The Video Game — About this game
Spot turns a board of empty squares into a contest over color and space. Move beside one of your pieces to create a clone, or leap over a square to reach farther without leaving a copy behind. Enemy pieces touching your destination switch to your color, making a tempting capture risky if it opens an even bigger counterattack. The largest collection of pieces wins when the board fills. You can mix human and computer opponents, adjust thinking time, and reshape the board in its editor. Hidden bonus squares can interrupt the match with a slot-machine reward. Up to four participants take turns, with two ordinary controllers shared between players when needed; this is a strategy game, not the side-scrolling Cool Spot adventure.
