How to Play Star Trek: 25th Anniversary
Quick start
Press START through the introduction and title screens, then choose START for a new mission rather than CONTINUE. Read the log and crew reports. On the bridge, press START for Options, select Transporter with the Control Pad and A, then choose a landing party. On the surface, move near noteworthy objects and press A for tricorder readings before deciding how to proceed. Save an Access Code using the ship's Save option when back aboard.
Controls
Bridge: Control Pad faces crew members or moves menu selection; A confirms and speeds dialogue; START opens Options. Planet: Control Pad moves/aims; A uses the tricorder; B fires the phaser; SELECT shows health; START opens Options. In planetary menus, A confirms and B cancels. Change STUN/FULL through Phaser Controls, not SELECT. Space combat: Control Pad maneuvers; A fires phasers, B photon torpedoes; START pauses. Access Codes: choose letters with the Control Pad and A, then END.
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary — About this game
This NES adventure alternates between directing the Enterprise from its bridge and investigating planets with a small landing party. Crew reports, tricorder scans and useful objects are central to solving problems, while occasional space battles put the ship's weapons under your control. Choosing companions matters: their scientific, medical or specialist knowledge can reveal information about what you find. The immediate task is to replace the depleted dilithium supply; the larger mission leads back toward Sigma Iotia and the disturbance that displaced the ship. Access Codes obtained aboard the Enterprise preserve progress without turning every obstacle into a firefight.
