At the Language Select screen, choose a language with the Control Pad and press A, then highlight START on the Main Menu, press A, and choose the single-player game. For a first session, open OPTIONS first, set Difficulty to Easy and Auto-Center to Medium or Fast, or use PRACTICE to learn the ship before beginning the story. After the opening cutscene, Aquess 1 starts the pilot's escape from the Karask so the warning can reach the homeworld. Steer with the Control Pad, tap A for direct fire, and hold A when you want the lock-on system to track a target. B supplies turbo, L+R brakes, and a double tap of either shoulder button rolls in that direction. If lock-on feels awkward at first, use manual shots until the target is centered and save SELECT's Smart Bomb for a crowded attack.

Menus: Control Pad highlights choices, A confirms, and B returns to the previous menu. Flight: Control Pad steers the ship; tap A to fire the main weapon, or hold A to enter lock-on mode; B activates turbo. L tilts left and R tilts right; double-tap L or R to roll in that direction. Hold L+R together to brake. SELECT fires a Smart Bomb. START starts the game, pauses during play, and resumes from pause.
