How to Play Stealth ATF
Quick start
Press START to interrupt the demo, then any button at the title to reach Player Selection. Use SELECT to choose one or two players and START to confirm. Read the mission briefing and press any button to reach takeoff. Press A to increase thrust, watch the speed gauge, then press Down to raise the nose and leave the runway. In combat, locate a bogey on radar, bring it into view, and use A for cannon fire. Wait for the lock-on symbol and message before spending a B missile. Keep the once-per-mission START stealth option for danger, and remember that SELECT pauses.
Controls
In combat, Up lowers the nose and Down raises it; Left/Right rolls left/right. Combine Left or Right with Up or Down to bank. A fires the cannon; B fires a missile, preferably after lock-on. START activates stealth mode once per mission. SELECT pauses/resumes and changes the background audio between music and flight sounds after a pause/resume cycle. During takeoff and landing, A increases throttle and B decreases it; flight speed is automatic during combat. On Player Selection, SELECT changes player count and START confirms. Controller 2 can control the enemy aircraft nearest the center of the view.
Stealth ATF — About this game
Stealth ATF combines cockpit dogfights with side-view takeoffs and landings. Each mission sends you after enemy aircraft, using an unlimited cannon or eight missiles that work best after a target lock. Radar helps locate opponents, while the instruments show altitude, fuel, heading, attack angle and damage. Stealth mode can break an enemy missile threat, but it is available only once per mission and ends automatically after danger passes. Destroying the last aircraft is not the finish: you still need to judge speed and approach for a safe landing. Good flying can unlock a timed bonus round, and remaining fuel and low damage improve the score. Two-player play offers alternating missions, while a second controller can also take over an enemy fighter for a dogfight.
