How to Play Stratego - Next Edition
Quick start
Start with a solo match on a low difficulty. Choose Original or the shorter Duel and use automatic deployment for your first game. Check unit abilities on the upper screen before moving into an unknown enemy.
Controls
Use the touch screen to place and select pieces, then choose a legal destination or enemy square. Most pieces move one square horizontally or vertically; scouts travel farther along clear lines. Bombs and the flag stay put. Check the upper-screen ability guide when planning an attack.
Stratego - Next Edition — About this game
Stratego - Next Edition adapts the board game to the DS touch screen. Arrange your army while concealing its ranks, then probe enemy positions and protect the route to your own flag. Encounters reveal the opposing pieces, making earlier discoveries useful for later moves. Original uses forty pieces, Duel reduces each army to ten, and the rotated-board variant changes the opening layout. Automatic placement helps you begin quickly before trying your own defensive formations.
