At the main menu choose Championship, assign the Heroes to a country, then set Position and Formation before the first match. Your immediate goal is to climb from rank 10 to rank 1 by eliminating all four inside players on each opposing team; outside players cannot be knocked out but can return passes and throws. Begin by learning the timing of B catches, then dash and throw on the third step for a ground super throw. Winning the tournament unlocks Special mode and a best-of-three challenge against a Dream Team.

Use the Control Pad to move; double-tap a direction to dash. On offence, A passes and B throws; on defence, A dodges and B catches. Press A+B together to jump. SELECT switches the controlled player, L calls a teammate into a dashing attack, and R selects a target while attacking (it has no defensive action). START pauses. For a ground super throw, dash and press B on the third step; for an aerial super throw, dash, jump with A+B and throw near the jump's peak.
