How to Play Super Mario Advance
Quick start
Choose SINGLE PLAYER on the title screen, select SUPER MARIO BROS. 2, pick one of the three save files, then choose a character. Mario is the easiest all-round first choice; in World 1-1, move right, pull up grass with B, lift and throw vegetables or enemies, and use doors and jars to reach the end of the area. Luigi jumps highest, Peach can float for about 1.5 seconds by holding A, and Toad lifts fastest but has the lowest jump, so switch characters when a route favors a particular skill.
Controls
Use the D-Pad to move and navigate, Up to enter doors, and Down to duck. A confirms and jumps; B cancels, pulls up grass, and lifts or throws enemies and items. Hold B or R while moving left/right to dash. Hold Down until the character flashes, then jump for a Super Jump. Start pauses and opens Continue, Save and Continue, or Save and Quit. L or Select shifts the camera view. Select+R enters Sleep Mode and Select+L wakes the game.
