How to Play Super Xevious - Gump no Nazo
Quick start
Press START at the title screen. Move Solvalou with the D-pad, use B’s Zapper for enemies in the air and align the forward sight before pressing A’s Blaster against ground objects. Early on, destroy each visible target and watch the sight over apparently empty ground; a reaction can reveal a hidden Sol tower after repeated bombing. If the scenery begins looping, the area’s special condition is still incomplete. Change what you investigate instead of repeating the same route: look for an ally, a missed formation, a ground target or a concealed object. Write down the secret, data or password shown after an area, because later puzzles build on information rather than reflexes alone, and four failed laps result in a lost ship.
Controls
The D-pad moves Solvalou in four directions. B fires the Zapper at airborne targets. A launches the Blaster at the ground position indicated by the sight in front of the ship; when that sight is absent, the Blaster cannot be used. START begins the game from the title screen and pauses or resumes during play. The Japanese Famicom manual assigns no normal gameplay action to SELECT.
Super Xevious - Gump no Nazo — About this game
Super Xevious: GAMP no Nazo keeps Xevious’s two-layer combat and adds progression puzzles to nearly every area. Solvalou fires the Zapper at airborne enemies and drops the Blaster on ground targets marked by its forward sight. Across 21 areas, simply reaching the end is often not enough: a stage may demand that an ally be rescued, every required target be destroyed or a buried Sol tower be revealed and eliminated. Missing the condition loops the same area with altered enemy patterns, and failing to solve it within four passes costs a life. Lasers, barriers and several hidden flags expand the arsenal and influence later results, while secrets, data and passwords shown between areas reward careful note-taking. The campaign therefore combines shooting skill with observation, experimentation and route memory.
