How to Play SWAT: Special Weapons and Tactics
Quick start
First, select START, register your name, and decide where to infiltrate. At the briefing, the main entrance is barred with machine guns, so read the entrance description and choose one. While moving, press up to move forward, press left or right to change direction, and press down to turn back. Press A to open the command window, use the up and down arrow keys to select ``Watch,'' ``Listen,'' ``Search,'' etc., and press A to execute. When approaching a corner or door, it is safe to listen for sounds first and check for traps before opening. In battle, check the direction and distance of the enemy and assign attack, support, evasion, and treatment to each member. Review your HP and formation frequently, and if you want to stop time and think about it, pause with START. Be sure to record the password at the end of each floor.
Controls
When moving, press the cross key to move forward, press down to turn backwards, and press left/right to turn in the corresponding direction. Open the command window with A, and while selecting a command, move the cursor using the up and down arrow keys and press A to execute it. B cancels the command being input, and switches between group A/B of commands in battle. For the title, select START/CONTINUE with SELECT, and start with START. START during play is a pose that stops the clock, and pressing it again will restart it. Controller II is not used.

``SWAT'' is a command-style tactical game for the Family Computer in which a five-person team infiltrates a building occupied by a terrorist group. In search mode, you navigate the hallways from a first-person perspective and search for traps, culprits, and hostages using commands such as "look," "search," "listen," and "open." When you encounter an enemy, you will enter combat mode, and the battle will be automatically processed after setting close combat, shooting, special attack, support, evasion, and treatment for each team member. We talk and interrogate the rescued hostages and arrested criminals, and use the information for the next decision. Manage the formation, weapons, physical strength, and direction of watch, and once you have wiped out the criminals on each floor, use the communication device to call an outside team. The victory condition is to defeat all criminals and rescue the hostages within 24 hours, which is reduced in real time.
