Shogi, reversi, mahjong and cards sit beside sliding puzzles, darts and air hockey, so the first decision is which set of rules to learn. Reversi flips an opponent’s line by bracketing it, while the sliding puzzle moves pieces through the empty space to restore the arrangement. Air hockey changes the pace by asking you to protect a goal and direct the puck. Begin with a familiar board game, finish one round and read the new controls before switching to an action activity.
