How to Play Classic Bubble Bobble
Quick start
Press START and choose Start, confirming with A. In the first room, wait near the centre of the lower floor and trap the approaching robots with B. Jump up the platforms and drop onto their bubbles to burst them. Practise holding A to hop on bubbles before trying harder routes, and keep your stage password.
Controls
Left/Right: move. A: jump; hold A to hop on bubbles. B: blow bubbles to trap enemies. Drop onto trapped-enemy bubbles to burst them. START begins, pauses or resumes play. In password entry, use the D-pad to choose, A to enter a character, B to go back and START to submit.
Classic Bubble Bobble — About this game
Clearing a room means finding every enemy, including those beyond the visible screen, and turning trapped monsters into bonus points. Jump onto your own bubbles to reach awkward platforms, then approach enemy bubbles from above to burst them. Certain cleared stages reveal a door to an alternate route; waiting instead keeps you on the current path. Boss encounters interrupt the platform stages, and passwords let you resume at later levels. Watch the edges of the scrolling view before chasing the final enemy.
