How to Play Tales of Innocence
Quick start
Start a new game and follow Luca’s opening events. Learn attack, arte and guard, then examine equipment and Styles in the menu. Save and prepare before following the next field route.
Controls
Use the D-pad and displayed battle commands for movement, attacks, artes and guard. Use the free-run command introduced in the controls when repositioning. Field confirm and battle attack have different roles, so read the current screen’s guide.

Follow Luca after he discovers an unusual power, travelling with companions whose memories connect to a former life. Field enemies lead into real-time battles where you combine ordinary attacks, artes and guarding rather than selecting one turn at a time. Battle Styles influence growth and the skills you learn, so inspect a character’s style before repeating encounters. Begin with the opening conversation and combat lesson, practise a short attack followed by defence, then check the party’s equipment and style. Keep an eye on enemy position and leave room to move instead of trapping the party against one target.
