How to Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
Quick start
At the title screen, highlight Story for a full one-player run or Vs CPU for a single practice match, then press START. Choose a fighter with the D-pad and press B. Learn the basics before attempting command moves: A kicks, B punches, Up jumps, Down crouches, and holding away from the opponent blocks. Win two rounds before your opponent. Pick up a Fireball with B when standing over it, then use the manual input—hold Down, press Up, and press B—to throw it.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right moves and blocks attacks from the opposite side when held away; Up jumps, Down crouches, and diagonals jump forward or backward. A performs kicks and B performs punches; combine either button with a direction for jumping, low, and character-specific attacks. To throw at the proper distance, press away from the opponent plus B. Stand over a Fireball and press B to pick it up; hold Down, then press Up+B to launch it. START confirms menu choices and pauses during a fight. Tournament CPU-only rounds can be skipped with SELECT.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters — About this game
The European release, titled Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Tournament Fighters, is a one-on-one NES fighting game built around best-of-three-round matches. Story mode lets one player choose a Turtle and battle the other Turtles, Casey Jones, Hothead, and ultimately Shredder. Versus Player supports two fighters, Versus CPU allows a single exhibition against the computer, and Tournament mode creates a four-character single-elimination bracket for zero to four human players. Combat combines kicks, punches, jumping and low attacks, blocks, throws, collectible Fireballs, and fighter-specific command moves. Options adjust difficulty, normal or turbo speed, and round timers of 45, 60, 99 seconds, or unlimited time.
