How to Play Tetris
Quick start
Choose A-Type to learn the game, select Level 0, pick a music track, and press START. Move each piece left or right before it reaches the stack, rotate with A or B, and hold Down only after the landing space is clear. Build a mostly flat surface and leave one vertical channel for the long I piece so that four lines can be cleared together. Try B-Type after you are comfortable: select a low height first and clear the required 25 lines.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right moves the falling piece one column, and Down makes it fall faster; the D-pad also selects game type, level, height, and music in menus. A rotates 90 degrees clockwise, while B rotates 90 degrees counter-clockwise. SELECT hides or restores the NEXT-piece preview during play. START begins the game and pauses or resumes it. There is no hold or hard-drop command. Pressing A+B+SELECT together during play resets to the licence screen without erasing the top score.
Tetris — About this game
Nintendo's NES version of Tetris is a single-player puzzle game built around seven shapes made from four squares. Move and rotate each falling piece to complete horizontal lines without letting the stack reach the top. A-Type is an endurance mode in which the level gradually rises as you clear lines and the goal is to earn the highest possible score. B-Type is a fixed challenge: choose a level and a starting height filled with random blocks, then clear 25 lines to finish. Three music tracks or silence can be selected, and the NEXT preview may be hidden for an extra challenge. This version has no hold function or instant hard drop, so planning rotations and lateral movement early is essential at high speed.
