How to Play The Adventures of Bayou Billy

Quick start

Use SELECT at the title to choose GAME A, then press START to play the shooting scenes with a regular controller. In the opening fight, move with the Control Pad, kick with A, punch with B and try a jump-kick by pressing A and B together. Collect weapons and recovery items. When shooting begins, move the sight with the Control Pad and fire with A. Select TRAINING if you want separate practice; GAME B is the light-gun option.

Controls

At the title, SELECT moves the selection and START begins. START pauses and resumes play. Brawling: Control Pad moves Billy, A kicks, B punches or uses the held weapon, and A+B performs a jump-kick. With ammunition available, SELECT switches to the gun and B fires it. Shooting: GAME A uses the Control Pad to aim and A to shoot; GAME B uses the light gun's aim and trigger. Driving: Left/Right changes position, Up accelerates and Down slows down; A throws dynamite at aircraft and B fires at vehicles or obstacles ahead. Original light-gun operation is separate from emulator input configuration.

The Adventures of Bayou Billy — About this game

Mad City is the Japanese Famicom release of Billy West's mission to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Annabelle. Its story introduces Billy as a former soldier, while the action moves between brawling through swamps and streets, aiming in shooting scenes and driving an armed vehicle. Recovering weapons and supplies helps you survive, but each style requires different movement and attacks. TRAINING lets you practise the separate disciplines. For this Japanese release, GAME A uses the regular controller during shooting scenes, while GAME B uses a light gun; the overseas release reverses those menu choices.
