How to Play The Adventures of Gilligan's Island
Quick start
Press START, then START or A, and press A on the episode introduction. Read the opening conversation; use A when the flashing dialogue marker appears. Move the Skipper with the D-pad and touch castaways to speak. The first episode begins with preparations for a storm and the Howells' missing ring. Press SELECT, choose MAP with Up/Down and A, then SELECT to return. Keep Gilligan with you; use a rope from the same menu if he falls behind, and use FOOD when the Skipper's energy is low.
Controls
D-pad: move the Skipper in four directions. A: jump, advance conversations, or confirm a menu item; press A rapidly to swim. B: punch or use a weapon. SELECT: open the menu or return to play. In the menu, Up/Down chooses MAP, FOOD or ROPE and A activates the choice. START: start the game; the opening sequence also accepts A where indicated. If Gilligan is separated, you have two minutes to reach him or retrieve him with a rope before continuing the search for clues.
The Adventures of Gilligan's Island — About this game
The Adventures of Gilligan's Island is an action-adventure in which you control the Skipper while Gilligan accompanies him across winding island paths and underground caves. Each of four episodes has its own chain of conversations and errands: preparing shelter before a storm, rescuing Mary Ann, investigating stone-tablet fragments and pursuing a mysterious idol. Finding a character is not always enough; you must follow clues in the right order, and the Skipper cannot obtain clues when Gilligan is missing. Time and food are limited, while animals, falling rocks and hazardous terrain can delay or injure you. The menu map records discovered castaways but leaves some caves uncharted. Bananas replenish food supplies, hourglasses add time and ropes retrieve Gilligan when the pair becomes separated.
