How to Play The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends
Quick start
In the opening level, stand still and press SELECT to choose Rocky, then move right. Stop completely before pressing down to pick up safe items; avoid the short-fused bombs thrown at you. A jumps. For a special move, hold left or right and press B: Rocky flies and Bullwinkle charges. Use these sparingly because they drain your shared energy. Bullwinkle can climb stairs with up, and either character can enter doorways with up. Find keys when an exit is locked, collect Moose Juice to recover, and keep a supply of bombs for later.
Controls
Left/right: move. Up: enter a doorway; Bullwinkle also climbs stairs. Down: pick up items while stationary, move Bullwinkle down stairs or land Rocky during flight. A: jump. B while stationary: hold a bomb, then release to throw. Left/right+B: Bullwinkle charges or Rocky flies, consuming energy. SELECT while completely still: switch characters. START: pause. Character changes preserve the current energy total.
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends — About this game
Bullwinkle has inherited an English estate, but Boris and Natasha want to stop him and claim it themselves. This NES adventure follows the pair from Frostbite Falls to Abominable Mansion across five levels of platforming. Choose between Bullwinkle’s charge and Rocky’s flight to handle different obstacles, but both special moves spend energy and switching characters does not refill it. Some stages require a key to unlock the exit, and collecting bombs along the route prepares you for the final level. Safe pickups are different from the short-fused bombs thrown by the villains, which should be avoided. Moose Juice restores energy, while Goof-Gas can reverse the directional controls and disrupt Rocky’s flying. Progress depends on using each character at the right moment and keeping enough energy for the difficult sections ahead.
