How to Play The Black Bass
Quick start
Begin in Class C and read the lake, weather, water-temperature, and closing-time information. Move the boat with the D-pad and press A to choose a fishing point. Select lure type with Up/Down and colour with Left/Right, then confirm with A. Choose a casting direction, press A once to start the power meter, and press A again at the desired strength; tap B in flight to brake near cover. After splashdown, work the lure with the D-pad and reel with A. When a fish bites, keep it away from the edges, alternating controlled A reeling with brief B braking until it tires enough to land.

The Black Bass — About this game
The Black Bass II is a tournament fishing simulation built around weather, water temperature, time of day, depth, lure choice, and careful line control. The Japanese schedule runs twelve events from June 5 through September 25 on dates ending in five, with the player starting in Class C. Top finishers move upward through Classes B and A, while poor results can cause demotion. Each attempt progresses from steering the boat to a fishing point, selecting a lure type and colour, timing cast power, working the lure through the water, and fighting a hooked fish without letting it reach the screen edge and break the line.
