How to Play Jungle Book, Disney's The
Quick start
Press START for normal play, or SELECT at the title screen to choose Practice, Normal or Expert. In a stage, hold Left or Right to walk and hold B while moving to run. Use A for jumps and hold it longer for extra height. Fire bananas with B; hold a direction to aim, and press SELECT to cycle only through weapons already collected. Watch the gem counter and timer: levels 1, 3, 4, 7 and 9 end when you gather the required gems, while other stages lead to a boss that usually wakes after all gems are found. Shoot hanging banana bunches to reveal useful objects, and use Up or Down to inspect routes above or below.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right: walk; hold B while moving to run. Up: shift the view upward; on levels 2 and 6, press Up beside a tree hole, hut or door to travel to another location. Down: crouch and view more of the area below. A: jump; hold longer for a higher jump. B: fire the current weapon in the held direction; while hanging from a vine, B makes Mowgli jump away. SELECT: cycle through collected weapons; at the title screen, open the options page. START: begin play and toggle pause.
Jungle Book, Disney's The — About this game
Disney’s The Jungle Book is a side-scrolling NES platform game based on the animated film. Mowgli must travel safely through the jungle toward the Man Village while searching for Bagheera and ultimately facing Shere Khan. Each stage has a time limit and mixes exploration, climbing, precision jumps and combat. Several stages end after the required number of gems is collected; the others culminate in a boss that normally awakens only after every gem has been found. Standard bananas are always available, while double-power and boomerang bananas, a later pea shooter and temporary protective items broaden the route through the jungle.
