How to Play König der Löwen, Disney's Der
Quick start
Select the game start in the main menu; Music, sound, difficulty and controls can be adjusted in the options. Move Simba with the D-pad, jump with A and hold A for a higher, longer jump. Roar with B, especially before jumping on porcupines. Most other enemies are defeated by jumping from above. As you run, press down at an angle to roll and break through low obstacles or bones. Find your way to the end in each of the six levels and learn the sequence of dangers: in the stampede you dodge with up and down, while Hakuna Matata requires precise jumps on the waterfall. START pauses at any time.
Controls
D-Pad: Move Simba; Dodge with up/down during the stampede. A: jump; hold for a higher and longer jump. B: roar. Diagonally downwards plus left/right when running: roll. START: Pause and resume the game. SELECT: no function.

Disney's The Lion King is a PAL-exclusive NES platformer with six stages exclusively following young Simba. The journey takes you through the Pride Lands, The Mane Event, the Elephant Graveyard, the Stampede, Exile and Hakuna Matata. Simba overcomes platforms, swings on bones and animal tails, avoids wildebeests and reaches the end of each level. Many enemies are defeated by jumping on their heads; Porcupines must first be stunned with a roar. A longer held A lengthens and increases the jump, while a diagonal downward motion while running causes Simba to crouch into a damaging roll.
