How to Play Wall Street Kid
Quick start
Select NEW GAME with the D-pad and START. At the desk, move the pointer to an icon and press A, then select an activity with the D-pad and A again. Read the newspaper daily, check tips carefully and use the computer to review prices, buy, sell and inspect the portfolio. When entering lots, Up increases and Down decreases the number while Left or Right moves the cursor; A confirms and B returns to the previous stock screen. One lot equals 1,000 shares. The business day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so schedule dates and exercise without neglecting the market. Watch purchase deadlines, health and romance as closely as cash. Write down the password shown each Sunday.
Controls
D-pad: select NEW GAME or SAVED GAME, move the desk pointer and menu triangle, choose stocks, and edit quantities. A: activate or confirm, advance text, and hold to speed dialogue. B: return from stock screens or erase the previous password character. START: confirm the selected title-screen mode. Password entry: SELECT+B moves the cursor backward; SELECT+A moves it forward.
Wall Street Kid — About this game
Wall Street Kid is the North American NES adaptation of The Money Game II, with a localized story and financial targets. A distant relative leaves the protagonist a huge inheritance, but access depends on proving that he can preserve the family’s wealthy lifestyle. Starting with $500,000, the player has four months to trade stocks and meet scheduled purchase goals involving luxury property and possessions. The office desktop links to the market computer, newspaper, banker, consultant, adviser, exercise and dates. Time advances throughout the business day, so profitable trading must be balanced against health and a relationship; letting either fall too low can end the game even when the portfolio is rich.
