Press START at the title screen and begin the story. Episode 1.1 starts aboard the Polar Express and doubles as a movement tutorial. Walk to the right, climb ladders, duck under low hazards and jump the gaps; open chests with Up and keep moving toward the front of the train. In later platform stages, collect all three sleigh bells to unlock the exit. Your first story goal is to reach the emergency brake so the train can stop for Billy. Candy canes are optional collectibles, so prioritize the safe route and the three bells when a stage uses them.

Control Pad Left/Right: walk; hold Down with Left/Right to crawl. Up/Down: climb ladders; Up also enters doors and opens chests. A: jump, climb up from a grabbed ledge, or let go of a ladder. Hold R with Left/Right to run, then press A for a running jump. Hold B with Left/Right to push or pull a box. L: cancel the current toy power-up. START pauses and also advances/skips dialogue. In skiing sections A jumps and Down ducks; in train sections Left/Right changes tracks; in the final zeppelin section tap A to rise and hold Right to accelerate.
