How to Play Simpsons, The: Bart vs. The World
Quick start
Press START at the title. On the options screen, use left/right to choose Start or Practice and press A. Practice lets you learn the single-screen games first. For the adventure, advance the introduction with A or skip it with START. On the world map, move the hand with the directional pad and press A, B or START on an available icon. A jumps and also supports running when held with left/right. For a long jump, press A just before B so you do not waste ammunition. Collect ammo bags before shooting with B, look for Krusty items and find the Map sign to leave a stage. Search carefully before leaving: completed stage icons cannot be revisited.
Controls
Directional pad: move; up climbs, down descends or ducks. A: jump; hold with left/right to run. A followed immediately by B: super long jump, with A first to avoid firing a shot. B: shoot collected firecracker ammunition. With the Bartman costume, use the directional pad and A to fly. START: start, pause/resume, or skip the introduction. SELECT: leave a single-screen game for its map. Options use left/right and A; maps use the pad and A, B or START to enter an icon.
Simpsons, The: Bart vs. The World — About this game
Bart’s prize in an art contest becomes a worldwide treasure hunt arranged by Mr. Burns, who wants the Simpsons out of the way. The NES adventure mixes scrolling platform stages with single-screen games between visits to China, the North Pole, Egypt and Hollywood. Bart collects common Krusty souvenirs for rewards and searches for rare, one-of-a-kind merchandise with help from other family members. Each destination has a fixed sequence of action stages; finding its Map signs returns you to the overview, and completing the stages unlocks the exit toward that area’s Burns boss. Firecracker ammunition is limited and must be picked up rather than assumed available at the start of every level. A Bartman costume temporarily adds flight, opening opportunities to reach awkward collectibles. The challenge combines careful jumping, exploration and learning the different side games.
