How to Play The Sims 2: Pets
Quick start
Start a new game and create your Sim by choosing gender, skin tone, hair, clothing, personality, and name. You arrive in Barkersville on Monday at 9:00 AM with §1,600. Walk to the doorway, meet Joane, and use Up/Down plus A to choose conversation topics; green reactions improve the relationship, while B ends the chat. Follow her to SimThing 4 Everyone, buy the requested starter items without spending all your rent money, then return to the apartment. Open the crate with A, place furniture only when its footprint is green, rotate it with L/R, and talk to Joane again to receive the shower and toilet. Keep some cash for the weekly rent before buying a pet.
Controls
Control Pad moves your Sim and navigates menus. A interacts, selects, and confirms furniture placement. B cancels or goes back and can end a conversation. L hides the Motives display or moves to the previous tab; R moves to the next tab, and L/R rotate furniture while placing it. START opens Collectables, Pet Pedigree, Career, and Relationships. SELECT opens the main menu. START can also pause the four mini-games.
