Pass the opening routine, select New Game, and continue to the Stoogeville map. A hand cycles across jobs and hazards; press A when it points to a paying job and avoid the mousetrap, which costs one of your fingers/lives. Your first campaign goal is to earn $5,000 before the thirty-day trip ends so Ma's orphanage is not foreclosed; $10,000 also funds repairs. An early Slap Fight is useful because landing more blows slows the map hand afterward, making later job selection easier. To resume another time, choose Password and enter all six characters with the D-Pad, then press A.

On the menu, use the D-Pad to select New Game, SFX, Music or Password and press A to confirm. On the map, time A to stop the moving hand on a job. Controls then change with the event. In Slap Fight, Left/Right turns Moe, a direction plus A performs the corresponding attack, and B fakes out the Stooge he faces. In Pie Fight, use the D-Pad to select which Stooge stands up and press A to throw; emptying all pies before five hits doubles the earnings. Other events use the D-Pad for movement or a choice and A for the prompted action. START pauses where the event permits it.
