How to Play Thexder
Quick start
Start with START and basically go to the right of the base. When a robot, it walks with left and right, jumps with the top, and transforms into an airplane with the bottom. To jump diagonally, press up and left and right at the same time and release the top to fall. On an airplane, use the cross button to move up, down, left, right, and diagonally, and press the opposite direction to return to the robot, but in narrow places it will make a U-turn, so please transform in a clear passage. Use A to use the missile and B to use the barrier. The barrier disappears over time and consumes a lot of energy, so limit it to situations where enemy bullets are concentrated, and remember the placement of enemies that can heal you to conserve your remaining energy.
Controls
Robot form: Move with left and right cross buttons, jump with up, jump diagonally with up + left and right, transform into airplane with down. Flight form: Use the cross button to move up, down, left, right, and diagonally, and press the opposite direction to the current direction to transform into a robot (makes a U-turn in tight spaces). A: Missile launch. Automatic aiming when a robot, and shooting in the direction of movement when an airplane. B: Consumes energy and creates a barrier for a certain period of time. START: Start/Suspend. SELECT and II controllers are not used.
Thexder — About this game
"Tegzer" is a survival shooting game for the Famicom in which players operate a high-mobility mech that can transform into two forms and aim for the center of a huge base built on a mysterious asteroid. In robot form, you can move left and right and jump, and missiles automatically aim at enemies. In flight mode, it can move freely up and down, left and right, but the firing direction is limited to the direction of the nose. When you defeat an enemy, you can absorb some energy, and the barrier that prevents attacks also consumes a large amount of energy. The base is a maze with many dead ends, and damage and remaining energy are carried over to the next area, so remembering where to heal enemies and safe transformation points will lead to long-term survival.
